Flachot queen

Queen Flachot , born with Santa Fe (Argentinian) in October 1922 and deceased the October 29th 1998, was a French Violoncelliste. A career follows which will make of it the ambassadress of “the French school of viloncelle during sixty years” (Christine Heurtefeux) in the whole world, with a strong activity between the end of the year 1950 and the beginning of the year 1970, period as from which it will be devoted much to the transmission of her knowledge. During its years, it is used in particular works as Darius Milhaud (Cisalpine Continuation, 1954), Charles Brown (Concerto for violoncello and orchestra, 1956), Pierre Max-Dubois (Concerto for violoncello and orchestra, 1958), Francis Miroglio (Sonata for violoncello and piano, 1961), Emile Mawet (Concerto for violoncello and orchestra, 1965), Aram Katchaturian (Concerto-Rhapsody, 1967), André Jolivet (Concerto for violoncello and orchestra, 1971), Henri Sauguet (Sonata for violoncello”, 1972)… In parallel, Reine Flachot is made pedagog. In 1966, it enters with the ENM of Paris, which it leaves in 1970 for the international musical Center of Annecy before the university of Arts of Tokyo (Toho Gakuen) requests it. It remains there until in 1974, date on which it joined Musik Akademie of Basle, while taking again its courses with the ENM of Paris and while becoming the first named woman professor of violoncello (CNSM of Lyon). It ceases any activity of teaching in 1995. This same year, it gives its last concerts to Japan, preferring to withdraw itself. “I prefer, declare it then, to leave a beautiful image of me and I am fatiguée< /i >. It is then 73 years old and puts a term at a career full with humulity and grace, having led it to choose with reserve its appearances discographics (4 recordings).

Reine Flachot left us on October 29th, 1998.

During her career, Reine Flachot was in particular distinguished by the Piatigorski price (1954) and the international prize from Orense (1965). -->
