Fixin

Fixin is a common wine French, located in the department of the Coast-with Or and the area Burgundy on the Route of the Great wines in the Côtes of Nights.

  • Claude Noisot, old pomegranate of the Emperor, under-adjudant-major of the battalion Napoleon Bonaparte with the isle of Elba, it gave its name to the park in which was built a museum (in reduction an approach of the villa inhabitant of Elba of San-Martino) and sculpture of his/her friend François Rude celebrates it: The alarm clock of Napoleon to immortality. Died in Fixin the April 14th 1861, it would have liked to be buried upright saber with light vis-a-vis the Emperor but the difficulties encountered to dig the pit in the very hard rock did not make it possible to satisfy this last will. The pomegranate had to be lying in the middle of the park which bears from now on its name.

  • Roland Martin, French historian, member of the French School of Athens in 1938, author in 1951 of a reference book on the Agora of Athens, gold medal of the CNRS, which lived in Fixin until the end of its life.
