Fixed cost
The fixed costs are those which do not vary according to the size of the activity. In other words, they are the costs which remain constant in spite of volume of production.
The fixed costs include for example the expenses of electricity, of insurance, but can also include the wages or other direct costs.
Contrary, the variable costs are those which change with volume of production.
The sum of the fixed costs and the variable costs forms the total costs.
