Five points of the Calvinism
The five points of the Calvinism are:
- total human depravity,
- unconditional election/Predestination,
- particular Redemption,
- irresistible grace,
- final perseverance of the saints.
They summarize the five guns adopted at the time of the Synode of Dordrecht (Dordt/Dort) in 1618 by the Reformed Church of the United Provinces. The decisions of the synod of Dordrecht were confirmed by the Reformed Church of France to the national synod of Alès of 1620.
These five points are sometimes indicated by the English acronym TULIP for T otal depravity , U nconditional election , L imited atonement , I rresistible grace , P erseverance off the holy .
