Five Takhts
The 5 Takhts, are the five " trône" sikhism. That is to say the five principal ones will gurdwara (temple). Jathédar (responsible) of each one of these takhts make party of the people more respected in the community sikh.
Akal takht
Akal Takht is the highest political institution of the sikhs. Akal means Eternel, term often to use to designate God. Takht means the “throne” into Persan. Therefore, Akal Takht is translated like the Throne of the Eternal. It is located directly in front of the Harmandir sahib at Amritsar. But the frontage of Akal takht is not directed vis-a-vis the entry of Harmandir sahib, this is a means of marked the distinction between the policy (Akal takht) and the spiritual one (Harmandir sahib)
Akal Takht was set up by sixth Guru sikh, Guru Hargobind, like symbol of political freedom sikh. Akal takht was held symbolically like political rampart against the lasting Moghols Emperors 17th and 18th century. The various attacks on Akal Takht and Harmandir sahib were carried out in the past by Ahmed Abdali Shah and Massa Rangar in the 18 century. Recently, on June 4th, 1984, the Indian Army destroyed the exterior facade of Akal Takht while trying to dislodge sikh militant in a known military operation discussed under the name of the Opération Bluestar.
Keshgar sahib
Place in which the Order of Khalsa was expressed. It is located in the cheap one of Anandpur sahib, rested by the ninth guru, in current India. It is here that the day of Vaisakhi, guru Gobind Singh founded the ceremony of Amrit (baptème), and the order of Kalsa.
Today, the weapons of guru Gobind Singh ji are to preserve there whoever can admired. Each day they are presented to public and the historical characteristic of each one of them is told.
Damdama sahib
It is in Talwandi Sabo also known under the name of guru Ki Kashi that draws up fifth Takht Sikh: Damdama sahib. Literally, Damdama means the place of breathing or the rest. Guru Gobind Singh had rested there after having fought in the many ones battles against Moghols.
It is also the place where was written, by bhai Mani Sngh, the " damdame wali bir" that is to say Guru Granth sahib which one currently knows. Without never to have had access to the compilation made by Guru Arjun the fifth guru; the tenth guru dictated, the totality of the Adi Granth by adding the anthem of his/her father there, Guru Teg Bahadur. It is for the sikhs a proof owing to the fact that the heart of all the gurus is the same one, only the corp changed. Moreover, the guru Granth sahib is to be distinguished from Adi Granth because the anthems of the ninth guru one added by guru Gobind Singh.
Today it is one of principal centers study monk, is in particular based there the " group; taksal". It is here also that are formed many " granthi" (priest).
Patna sahib
Patna sahib is located in the town of Patna. This city with the single characteristic to be honoured by the holy presence with Buddha, guru Nanak and guru Tegh Bahadur. Moreover, it is also the birthplace of guru Gobind Singh. It was born on December 22nd, 1666 here.
Some relics of the tenth guru are also preserved in this will gurdwara. Among are one will pangura (the cradle). Guru ji during its childhood has slept in this cradle. Moreover, four iron arrows, the sword of the Master and a pair of sandal are also preserved.
Hazur sahib
It is here that the heart of guru Gobind singh east set out again. Its last Hukam (order) at the community was: “The Eternal asked me to direct Panth. I order with all the sikhs to recognize Granth like the guru. By recognizing Guru Granth, the gurus appear…”
The guru also had ordered with the sikhs of not set up a monument here in its honor, and that which will dare to do it would lose itself there like all its family. Maharaja Ranjit Singh considering that the guru had sacrificed all its family for the sikhs, dared to make build takht sri Hazur sahib and thus embraced the loss of all its line.
Some of the crowned relics of the guru Gobind Singh are also preserved here. Of which, a gold dagger, a gun matchlock, an archer with 35 arrows, two arcs, a shield out of steel studded with the invaluable stones and five gold swords.
