The five-year plan is a document of economic Planification governmental laying down objectives of Production, over one five years period. For the States using of the five-year plans, one speaks about planned economy.

Initially used in the USSR since Plane Ier (1928-1932) to Plane Xe (1976-1980).

The use of five-year plans, in various forms, was spread in the people's democracies and Western, of which the France, which, via the General police station of the Plan, used it until 2005, of the countries like Canada, Morocco…

Five-year plans in the USSR

The five-year plan falls under a general process of economic planning and fact part of a prospective plan fixing of the general objectives for the five years to come (of production and industrialization, in particular). It can be revised each year, according to the results.

The First five-year plan in the USSR 1928 - 1932 brings a radical change of structure and dissociates Nouvelle economic policy .
