Five-SeveN

The Five-seveN is a semi-automatic Pistolet Simple action or Double action confined for a very particular Munition since it is about that used in the P90 of which he is the very indicated secondary Arme. It is built by FN Herstal.

The Ammunition, 5,7 X 28 mm is conceived like a miniature version of the 5,56 mm NATO, much less powerful it makes it possible however to pass through individual protections.

Five-seveN is built around one caracasse out of polymer and has a rail under the gun making it possible to install accessories such as a torch or a laser designator. The Pistolet exists in two versions:

  • the Five-seveN functioning in Double action, it is intended for a military use as arms secondary; it does not have manual safety.
  • the Five-seveN Tactical functioning only in Simple action is intended for the police force and the special units for which Five-seveN constitutes the principal weapon; a lever of safety is located above the relaxation.
Five-seveN Tactical in simple action with a manual safety above the relaxation. This safety is ambidextrous (it is identical of each with dimensions weapon). This version in simple action was designed at the request of the US Secrecy American Service. Some evolutions of the accessories of Five-seveN took place since the first models, but the weapon remains as a whole the same one with an identical mechanics. Certain series of modifications were gathered in versions proposed with the sale on the American territory:
    • the Five-seveN IOM (Individual Officer Model), Five-seveN Tactical equipped with a whole of accessories making the weapon more ergonomic: ambidextrous safety of a new form (with reliefs of position for tactile location), grooves in front of the trigger guard, rubbers with oblique stripes with the back of the slide instead of those at non-skid points " grips" first Five-seveN. The IOM is also equipped with a rail with notches with the standard Picatinny (MIL-STD-1913), of a new adjustable rise combined with a handlebar of greater dimensions, the whole in a completion black instead of the gray preceding chechmate.
    • the Five-seveN USG (United States Government): version " définitive" of Tactical for the US Secrecy Service. It takes again the characteristics of the IOM with a right trigger guard, a broader bolt of charger and new adherent coatings on the stick make their appearance.

Weak the Gauge of the Ammunition as its weak retreat makes it possible Five-seveN to be particularly light and to remain easily controllable while proposing a charger of 20 blows. On the other hand the reduced gauge of its ammunition induces a wounding Pouvoir lower than that of a conventional combat gun.
