First district of the Hauts-de-Seine
The first district of the Hauts-de-Seine is represented in XIIe legislature by Jacques Brunhes, appointed PCF, and city council man of Gennevilliers. Its substitute is Mrs. Michele Fritsch, general adviser of the Canton of Dove-North-Is.
Geographical and demographic description
The first district of the Hauts-de-Seine is located at the north-eastern end of the department and includes Colombes, Gennevilliers, and Villeneuve-the-Garenne, extending to the borders interdépartementales and the Second district from the Hauts-de-Seine. It is made up of the five following cantons:
- Canton of Dove-North-Is: 24.425 inhabitants.
- Canton of Dove-North-West: 24.606 inhabitants.
- Canton of Gennevilliers-North: 21.853 inhabitants.
- Canton of Gennevilliers-South: 20.660 inhabitants.
- Canton of Villeneuve-the-Garenne: 22.349 inhabitants.
According to the figures of the census of 1999, the district was then populated of 113.618 inhabitants.
