First district of the Guadeloupe

The first district of the Guadeloupe is represented in XIIe legislature by Eric Jalton, member of the general advice of the Guadeloupe. Its substitute is Mr. Jacques Cornano, mayor of Saint-Louis.

Geographical and demographic description

The first district of the Guadeloupe includes the communes surrounding Point-with-Clown, in the center of the department, like Marie-Gallant.

It is made up of the five following cantons:

According to the figures of the census of 1999, the district was then populated of 96.385 inhabitants.
