The first district of the the Alpes-Maritimes gathers center-is to it commune of Nice, and counts 90.656 inhabitants, which makes of it a district having a size lower than 10% of the national average, or 95.030 inhabitants. It included cantons of:

Canton of Nice-1 (17 175 inhabitants)
Canton of Nice-2 (19 774 inhabitants)
Canton of Nice-3 (32 066 inhabitants)
Canton of Nice-12 (21 624 inhabitants)
