First district of Yvelines
The first district of the Yvelines is represented in XIIe legislature by Etienne Pinte, appointed UMP, and mayor of Versailles. Its substitute is Suzanne Blanc.
Geographical and demographic description
The first district of the Yvelines is located at the North-East of the department and includes Versailles and Viroflay like two communes of the agglomeration of Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines, Montigny-le-Bretonneux and Guyancourt. It is surrounded by the second, fourth and eleventh districts of Yvelines like by the department of the Haut of the Seine. It is made up of the four following cantons:
- Canton of Versailles-North: 32.177 inhabitants.
- Canton of Versailles-North-West: 28.585 inhabitants.
- Canton of Viroflay: 15.211 inhabitants.
- Canton of Montigny-le-Bretonneux: 60.295 inhabitants.
According to the figures of the census of 1999, the district was then populated of 136.282 inhabitants.
