First district of Isere

The first district of Isere is one of the 9 French legislative districts which account the department of the Isere (38) located in area the Rhone-Alps. Genevieve Fioraso is the deputy of this district since June 2007.

Geographical and demographic description

The first district of Isere is delimited by the electoral Découpage of the law n°86-1197 of the November 24th 1986 , it gathers the following administrative divisions: Cantons of Grenoble I, Grenoble II, Grenoble IV, Meylan, Saint-Ismier.

According to the general Census of the population in 1999, carried out by the National institute of the Statistics and Economic studies (INSEE), the population of this district is estimated at 125243 habitants^, .
