First class
See also: First class (homonymy)
In means of transport (plane, train or boat), the first class is the the most comfortable class and that generally offering the most services.
Air transport
The seats of the first class of a Avion are generally in front of the apparatus and often on the bridge higher of the apparatuses than double bridge such as the Airbus A380 or the Boeing 747. The armchairs are increasingly broader than in economic Classe and than in Classe businesses and the passengers lay out of more than space for their legs. The passengers of first class generally embark the first, before the passengers of the other classes and often have of access and reserved waiting rooms. The times of recording and loading are also less constraining.Very few airline companies propose flights only in first class. The most famous example is the Concorde, used by Air France and British Airways on transatlantic flights. The armchairs, fault of place, were brought closer and less broad than on a Boeing 747, but the service, the exceptional quality of the restoration and especially speed and the time-saver justified the class and the price of the ticket. The places on the Harmony were invoiced with a supplement known as " supersonique" on the normal price of the first class suggested by the two operating companies. The new A-380 Airbus, put in business service recently, proposes, in first class, of installations of a luxury still never considering.
Rail-bound transport
The first class, in the train, proposes a refined comfort: armchairs out of fabric, fitted carpet, felted environment, either in the compartment cars, or in the parlor cars. In France, of day, the first class " Pro" , on TGV and Téoz Coral, offers installations of high-quality (leather armchairs, access to waiting rooms, sometimes service of restoration in the place included in the price of the ticket) the night, the sleeping cars (in France only on the international one) have luxurious individual or double cabins, sometimes with medical private. The berths 1st class (in interior course on board the Lunéa Coral) propose, as for them, of the compartments for one, two, three or four people maximum, very comfortable.
Maritime transport
The steamers of lines generally propose a first class (also called " classify cabines") and a second. On board the new deck chair " Queen-Mary II" , carrying out the regular connection Europe-America of North, there is a " first class unique" and various levels of cabins (Luxury, Great Luxury, Continuations) correspondent with categories of restaurants. On the giant transporters and catamarans crossing Pas-de-Calais, there are a single class but also a " Living room of luxe" accessible against supplement, assimilable, in fact, with a first class. On the cruising ships, if there is not, strictly speaking system of classes, but rather of the steamers of luxury and others of ordinary category, certain cabins known as " of first classe" are however more roomy and the recording, the loading and the unloading of the passengers carried out with share.
