Fiorello LaGuardia
Fiorello Enrico LaGuardia , born the December 11th 1882 and deceased the September 20th 1947, was the mayor of New York of 1934 with 1945. Called the Little Flower (“the small flower”) because of its small size and of the translation of its Italian first name, it remains in the history like an important mayor because of his management at the time of the Grande depression of 1929. His/her father, Achilles Luigi LaGuardia, were immigrant a Italy N and his/her mother, Irene Cohen, were Jewish originating in Austria-Hungary.
It gave its name to the International airport of Guardia and the school Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School off Music & Art and Performing Arts, created by him in 1936 and popularized by the film Fame .
