The Final Cut is the song éponyme of the ultimate album of Pink Floyd with Roger Waters within the group, The Final Cut .

Its narrator is a depressive man and at the edge of the suicide, in which one can see Pink, the hero of The Wall , after the destruction of his interior wall. The first verse is completed besides on these words: " And yew you make it past the shotguns in the hall, dial the combination, open the priesthole, and yew I' m in I' L Tel. you what' S behind the wall" ( And if you exceed the shotguns in the hall, composes the combination, opens the priesthole, and if I am there, I will say to you what there is behind the wall ), with the words " what' S behind the wall " covers by the detonation of a rifle.
The title refers at the same time to the clap of end (literal translation), already evoked in the preceding song, Southampton Dock, but also with the missed suicide of the narrator, who, a razor blade between the hands, has “ never have the notch to carry out the ultimate cut ” ( the nerve to make the final cut ).
