Final Fight (video game)

is a Video game of the type Beat them all developed and published by Capcom on Borne of arcade in 1989. Regarded as a reference of the kind, the play met an important popular success and was related to various platforms.

This play is the first shutter of the series Final Fight .

Play

History

In the Nineties, Metro City is corroded by the crime and violence. Lately elected mayor, the former professional all-in wrestler Mike Haggar is decided to eliminate the gangs which make reign terror on its city. In order to prevent it, Mad GEAR, a powerful criminal organization, removes her Jessica daughter and tries to corrupt it.

Haggar not being so easily impressionable, it contacts then Cody, the boyfriend of Jessica, and Guy, all two broken with martial arts and the street battle. The three men decide to have justice themselves, and are inserted in the low districts of City Subway in the search of Jessica.

Gameplay

Just like Street Fighter II which will revolutionize, two years later, the kind of the Jeu of combat, Final Fight becomes at its exit in 1989 the new standard meter of the Beat them all , with the detriment of the series Double Dragon.

The system of play is based on two buttons: for the blows, the other for the jump. Levels

The play comprises six coloured and varied levels, like two levels no-claims bonus.

The 1st level, Slum , is easiest and shortest. The character crosses a miserable district filled with malfaisants to find the boss , Damnd , which removed Jessica. After being beaten, he acknowledges more not to hold the young girl.

In the 2 level, Subway , the character fights in a subway station then in an oar. The level finishes on a boxing ring, for a confrontation with the boss Sodom , a samurai armed with katanas.

The 1st level no-claims bonus consists in destroying a car belonging to Dug, a member of the gang Mad Gear in a limited time. A pipe is available to help it. This level will be taken again like level no-claims bonus in Street Fighter II .

The 3rd level, West Side , proceeds the night, close to a restaurant then in a bar. The giant Andore Jr. captures the character and takes along it in an arena where the Andore family members await it. After having beaten all the malfaisants, the character meets EDI E. , a corrupted policeman which uses its bludgeon and its firearm.

The 4th level, Industry Area , the hero enters a factory controlled by Mad Gear (in the first part, from the flames pass through the grid of the floor). It enters an elevator, the boss Rolento , a soldier who fights with a stick and grenades awaits it when the elevator stops.

The 2er level no-claims bonus consists in breaking the most possible panes in a limited time.

The 5th level, Bay Area , proceeds along a bay. The character crosses initially a quay, vandalized public toilets, then turns over on bay to fight the boss , Abigail .

6th and last level, Up Town , occurs in a skyscraper. The hero starts on a continuous terrace then inside the building at the top of which the last boss waits, Belger , sitted on a wheel chair electric and armed with a crossbow.

1990 - Super Nintendo

1991 - Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum

The versions Microcomputer S 8 and 16 bits were developed by Creative Materials and were published by US Gold. On Amiga and Atari ST, the play received appreciations contrasted by the press while the versions 8 bits were generally depreciated.

Final Fight in the beginning was designed to be one following Street Fighter and was to be called Street Fighter “89 .
Mad Gear is also the name of a play of race of cars carried out by Capcom in 1989.
Metro City seems to be located at New York. Indeed, the Statue of Freedom is visible in the decoration of the fifth level.
In the introduction of the version Japanese arcade, Jessica appears out of underclothing on television.
the characters of the Andore family are inspired by the fighter André the Giant. One of the family members, Hugo, is a character of Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact .
the characters Axl and Slash are parodies of the members of the Pink Guns of the same name.
Abigail is an album of Mercyful Fate, whose singer King Diamond inspired the character of the play.
Poison is a group of heavy metal of the Eighties whose singer carried the same kind of cap as the character of the play.
Sodom, one of the boss of the play is also the name of a group of German metal. It appears then in Street Fighter Alpha .
the character Two P is also the second player of the play Forgotten Worlds (Two P = Player 2, Joueur 2 ).
Cody, Guy and Rolento will become thereafter characters of the series Street Fighter : Guy and Rolento appear in Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 , Cody in Street Fighter Alpha 3 .
