Final Cut Pro is a software of virtual assembly, in the beginning developed by the firm Macromedia, it was repurchased in extremis by Apple in 1998 to save it of an unquestionable extinction. After a complete recasting and efforts marketing, Apple made a tool impossible to circumvent of it for the video assemblers on Macintosh. This software functions only on the system Mac OS X, other than any other platform. For a few years, he has been regarded as a software professional and competed with Avid, although this one remains the priority choice of the large productions. Final Cut Pro brought in the world of the virtual assembly a great innovation to its beginnings, the assembly out of native FD, by simply connecting a cable IEEE 1394 on the port FireWire: it was then possible to recover it video with the numerical format, to assemble it without any losses and transformation. Progressively of the evolution of the versions, of the additional interfaces (chart of acquisitions) made their appearance, suggested by third manufacturers, they make it possible to be able to capture the analogical or numerical signal not compressed (SDI), and to work it with Final Cut or any other compatible application QuickTime. The first of these charts was RTMac proposed by Matrox. In the professional world, the reference of the charts of acquisition for CPF, is the range DeckLink de Black Magic, chart also compatible Windows.
