Film with sketches
The film with sketches is a cinematographic kind resting on several stories turning around the same topic, whatever it is (contained or forms). In Europe, this kind knew its hour of glory with the Comédie with Italian the of the Années 1950 and 1960.
The meanings of the term film to sketches differ according to the cases and the sources and criticisms are not all of agreement on the definition:
- a film with sketch can be a collective work (each segment is carried out by a different scenario writer) but it exists also films with sketches entirely carried out by only one scenario writer (for example All that you always wanted to know about the sex without never daring to ask it Woody Allen or Seven times woman of Vittorio de Sica).
- If the great majority of films with sketches are comic, it is not a strict obligation because the term Sketch is sometimes interpreted like segment , even Short film . Thus, some speak about films with sketches for films like 11 ' 09" 01 .
- In general, the sketches must be strictly independent, i.e. their stories are not dependant and the characters are often different. Nevertheless, one sees sometimes the term applied to films whose scenes are built in way more or less autonomous even if there however exists a discussion thread for all film. It is for example the case of the Vacances of Mr. Hulot or Taxidermie .
