Filitosa
Filitosa is a site Corsica Préhistorique of occupied starting from the Neolithic and at the beginning of the Bronze Age.
Situation
The site of Filitosa, in the valley of the Taravo, on the D57 road, is established in the west of the locality (and on the territory of the commune) of Sollacaro, in the north of Propriano.
History
The site was discovered in 1946 by the owner of the places, Charles-Antoine Cesari. The Fouille S started in 1954. The menhirs (representing armed characters) and the found potteries go back to 3300 av. J. - C. In the neighborhoods of 1500 av. J. - C., of the menhirs of 2 or 3 meters were set up.
The site
With each found inscribed menhir a number was allotted. Filitosa V is that which with the biggest size. It is also that which shows equipment (weapons: long sword and the dagger) most important and most precisely carved.The entry of the site is paying and makes it possible to reach:
- Filitosa V, of which " attributs" engraved are more or less visible according to the moment of the day (question of shade, and light more or less shaving)
- large blocks rounded, more or less covered of foam according to the season, and disseminated among trees
- the Oppidum
- an alignment of 5 menhirs (in arc), enough far downwards, before a hillock with other blocks
- various groups of blocks, here or there towards the end of the ground, and much less significant.
Until the oppidum, audio terminals diffuse with the request by pressure on a button a comment in 4 languages with the choice: French, English, German, Italian.
