Figueira da Foz is a municipality (in Portuguese: concelho or município ) of the Portugal, located in the District of Coimbra and the area Centers.

Geography

Figueira da Foz, located at the mouth of the river Mondego, to 40 km in the west of Coimbra is bordering:
  • in north, of Cantanhede,
  • in the east, of Montemor-o-Velho and Soure,
  • in the south, of Pombal.

The municipality has moreover a maritime frontage, in the west, on the Atlantic Ocean, which ensures to him a certain fame thanks to its great sand beach end: has praia da Claridade , on which the world minis of football of beach are regularly organized is organized there, as well as an annual contest of bikinis open to all.
