The Romance Fighter pilot is a work of the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Appeared first of all with the the United States under the title Flight to Arras on February 20th 1942, the account upsets the Americans and allows them to understand that before being crushed under the German boot, the France fought. In France, the government of Vichy agrees to publish the book only in two thousand specimens, that the German censure decides to withdraw sale. In spite of this prohibition, clandestine editions circulate: Fighter pilot is read under the coat.

This account of a mission carried out by Saint-Exupéry in the sky of the North of France (synthesis of the missions of May 23rd, 1940 and of June 6th, 1940) makes it possible the author to call the reader with a reflection on the war and the role of the man.
