Fifth district of the Loire-Atlantique

The fifth district of the Loire-Atlantique is one of the 10 French legislative districts which account the department of the Loire-Atlantique (44) located in area Pays of the Loire.

Geographical and demographic description

The fifth district of the Loire-Atlantique is delimited by the electoral Découpage of the law n°86-1197 of the November 24th 1986 , it gathers the following administrative divisions:

The fifth district of the Loire-Atlantique is located in the east of the department. On the basis of the suburbs east of Nantes, it gathers the territories located on Right Bank of the the Loire.

According to the general Census of the population in 1999, carried out by the National institute of the Statistics and Economic studies (INSEE), the total population of this district is estimated at 140339 habitants^,.

Before the cutting of 1986, the district of Clisson and Ancenis was the Fourth district of the Loire-Atlantique.
