Fifi Brindacier

Fifi Brindacier (Långstrump Wee in Swedish), of its complete name Pippilotta Viktualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraimsdotter Långstrump , is the main character of a series of Romance S for children written between 1945 and 2000 by the author Swedish Astrid Lindgren. The first four novels of this series were adapted for the Télévision with Inger Nilsson in the role of Fifi. The televised adaptation met a great success in several countries of Europe. Moreover Fifi Brindacier also exists in cartoon.

Astrid Lindgren created the character of Fifi for her Karin daughter, who suffered from a pulmonary ignition and which liked to listen to the stories told by his/her mother.

Fifi, the main character of this series of novels, lives in the Villa Drôlederepos also called Villa “Villekula” with Mr Nilsson (or Mr Dupont ), small a Singe and Uncle Alfred , a Cheval. This red-headed little girl nine years, not higher than three Pomme S, has as a father an old man Pirate of the South Seas, which according to the legend would be so large that it would be impossible that it drowns. She is also very rich (she has a trunk filled with gold coins) and very strong (she is able to carry her horse and to escape two police). She has two friends, Tommy and Annika, which live the house close to that of Fifi. These two last are often impressed by Fifi which can lie down when she wishes it or to go up on the furniture of her villa and to have fun with what it likes.

This character out of the common one contributed to fight against the stereotyped representations and sexists of the children in the books youth. During the first publications, Fifi Brindacier was décriée, number of adults thinking that a character intended for the children was to be wise and less out-standard. On the scene Punk of the Eighties (especially in Germany), one could see young girls vêtues like Fifi and of the groups to interpret the credits of the television series, in particular Wizo and Die Frohlix. Fifi and Zora russet-red the were a political symbol.

Initially declined in a 100 minute old telefilm realized by Olle Hellbom in 1968, the character was the subject of a series in 25 minutes episodes carried out by the same realizer and with the same actors as of 1969:

One of the characteristics of the Televised series is the Générique and the interpreted songs. They have same the Musique in all the languages, only the texts change. It is thus possible to recognize Fifi in others Langue S.
