Fieseler
Fieseler (company name supplements in German: Gerhard Fieseler Werke GMBH ) was a German aeronautical manufacturer. Fieseler is especially known to have built the plane of the type s.t.o.l '' Storch '' (stork) and the first cruise missile V1.
History
In 1930, Gerhard Fieseler repurchased the factory of construction of sailplanes of Kassel Segelflugzeugbau Kassel and Fieseler Flugzeugbau (aeronautical Engineerings Fieseler) renamed it. In 1933, the manufacture of planes of competition was transferred from Ihringshausen to Bettenhausen in the halls of an old factory of ammunition. The German ministry of the Air (Reichsluftfahrtministerium) ordered in 1934 with Fieseler of the civil aircrafts and the development of a plane of dive bombing (Stuka). One year later the production of the Fi 156 baptized Fieseler Storch (the stork of Fieseler) was launched, the factory manufacturing at the same time under license of (Messerschmitt Bf 109). The factory employed 5300 people in 1938 and accepted the distinction of model factory national-Socialist ( NS-Musterbetrieb ). At April 1st 1939, Fieseler Flugzeugbau was renamed Gerhard Fieseler Werke GMBH .
The June 5th 1942, RLM ordered the development of a “projectile with long range in the shape of plane” ( Ferngeschoss in Flugzeugform ). The engineer de Fieseler Robert Lasser then developed the flying bomb Fieseler Fi-103 more known under designation Vergeltungswaffe (arms with reprisals) V1) which was then produced masses some by more than fifty German arms factories as from March 1944. On the 35000 V1 manufactured, 9251 was drawn in direction from the England (primarily on London) and 6551 against Antwerp. The Fieseler factories of Bettenhausen and Waldau were attacked the July 28th 1943 during the first bombardment of Kassel by the United States Air Force. The bombs destroyed especially inhabited areas and the spinning mill Spinnfaser AG located in the vicinity. More than 10.000 people perished however at the time of the attack of Kassel by RAF the October 22nd 1943. All the factories were also severely touched. Thereafter, the quantities required by the Luftwaffe could not be reached any more and Gerhard Fieseler was dislocated of her position of director of the Fieseler factories on March 29th, 1944. At April 19th 1944, the factories given in state again were bombarded and destroyed, this time by American bombers. One of the employees of Fieseler (until 1944) was the engineer Erich Bachem who developed of 1944 to 1945 in his own factory the first rocket with vertical takeoff Bachem Ba 349 " Natter" (viper). (Later, in 1957, it produced at Hymer the caravan “Eriba”).
The October 15th 1947 the allied military governors announced the dismantling of the factories Gerhard Fieseler within the framework of the plan of Démontage of the complex German militaro-industrialist.

Messerschmitt Bf 109, in particular the model Bf 109 T with folding wings only produced at Fieseler. It was to be implemented on the Porte-avions “Graf Zeppelin” which was never finished.

The three factories of Kassel employed more than 10.000 workmen (men and women) forced, of which thousands of Dutchman and French (see STO).
The foundation Gerhard-Fieseler Stiftung was created on October 17th, 1980. Its goal is to support the social institutions with lucrative goal like the clubs of sport, the assistance with the elderly and art and the culture.
