Field hockey with the Olympic Games of 2008

The tests of Field hockey with the Olympic Games of summer of 2008 will proceed 10 with the August 23rd 2008 on the ground of hockey of the Olympic Park of Beijing (Popular republic of China).

Format

Twelve male teams and twelve female teams take part in the Olympic tournament of Field hockey. In the first phase the six teams of each hen meet. The two first of general classification are qualified directly for the semi-finals. A match for the bronze medal is organized between the losers.

Olympic Tournament of qualification 1: Argentina, Cuba, France, Ireland, Trinidad and Tobago.
Olympic Tournament of qualification 2: Austria, Bangladesh, Chile, the United Kingdom, India.
Olympic Tournament of qualification 3: , Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Poland, Switzerland.

Women

pre-Olympic Tournaments:

Olympic Tournament of qualification 1: Kenya, Chile, Spain, Ukraine.
Olympic Tournament of qualification 2: India, France, the United States, Belgium, Russia.
Olympic Tournament of qualification 3: , Malaysia, Canada, Cuba, Italy.
