Fiduciary Currency
In economy, the fiduciary currency (in English, FIAT money ) is the currency whose value is guaranteed by the State. The support of this currency (coins, banknotes, deposit accounts) has a value lower than the face value than their allotted the State.
The whole of the fiduciary currency is based today on the confidence (i.e. to believe that a ticket of 10 Euro S is worth 10 euros well), in particular for the tickets whose face value is much higher than the price of paper and ink that they contain.

With the rise of confidence in the Monetary authorities transmitting, the fiduciary currency gradually replaced the currency standard, made noble metals. First of all, the fiduciary currency was made up of pieces of metal currents.
Then appeared the Banknotes, and they accounts - checks.
The bank accounts of sight deposits can be seen as of the fiduciary currency if they are guaranteed by the State or the Central bank.
In the Years 2000, the Plastic money (Moneo in France) appeared; contrary to the Purchasing cards, the money which is stored there is not associated with a Compte running: it is thus fully about fiduciary currency.
