Feucherolles

Feucherolles is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called the Feucherollais .

Geography

The commune of Feucherolles is in the North-East of Yvelines, with 12 kilometers in the south-west of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer, chief town of district and with 17 kilometers in the North-West of Versailles, the prefecture of the department. It pertaining to the natural area of the Flat of Versailles.

The communes bordering are Poissy with the north-north-east, Chambourcy with the east-north-east, Saint-Name-the-Bretèche in the east, Chavenay in the south, Davron in south-west, Crespières in the west and Orgeval in the North-West.

The communal territory, relatively vast, 1285 hectares, extends on approximately 5 km from north in the south and 5 km of are in west. It includes/understands three parts, in north a plate with approximately 175 meters of altitude which belongs to a line East-West heights directed between the forest of Marly and that of Alluets, in the south, a zone of soft inclined plain towards the south, being staged between 140 and 130 meters of altitude, which belongs to the northern slope of the valley of Gally], between the two a zone of rather sloping transition, in which the historic site of the village is.

On the hydrographic level, one notes in north the source of the Ru of Buzot, affluent of the Seine, which runs out towards the North-East in direction of Chambourcy while following the skirt of forest of Marly. Towards the south, the communal limit arrives at a hundred meters of the Ru of Gally, in which emerges the funds of Noisseaux, small valley without permanent river.

The communal territory is mainly rural, to 80%. The rural areas, which cover approximately 100 hectares is divided appreciably with equality between cultivated grounds (field crop cereal, orchards) and forests. In particular the north-eastern part of the commune is in the western end of large the Forêt of Marly. Wood are also in the west of the village. With these spaces 126 hectares of green areas are added, of which the golf of Feucherolles, in the east of the village.

Urbanized space represents 130 hectares (given 1999), made up primarily of individual habitat.

The habitat is grouped in the village, which was spread out in the north and the south of its historical core along the old layout of the RD 130. In north the recent Lotissement S join Holy-Gem the old hamlet and orée of the forest of Marly, to the south they are limited by road RD 307.

In the road traffic plan, the commune is crossed in its southern part by the secondary road 307, directed East-West, which carries out towards Versailles and the highways A13 and A12 to the east and towards the valley of the Mauldre to the west. It is also crossed by the secondary road 30, directed North-South, which leads towards Poissy and the highways A13 and A14 to north and towards Plaisir to the south. This road was deviated and circumvents the village by the west, with a crossing made uneven with the RD 307. The highway of Normandy crosses the point is communal territory, in the forest.

The commune is not served by the railroad. The station nearest is that of Saint-Name-the-Bretèche.

History

Heraldic

In 1818, the commune of Lanluets-Holy-Gem is amalgamated with Feucherolles.

Economy

Near to the great business districts of Defense accessible very quickly by the highway A14 to Orgeval, of the new city of Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines by the secondary road 30 and of Paris, Feucherolles is initially a residential city. One also finds there some craftsmen independent and some companies of the tertiary sector, of which Mood Media, specialized in the diffusion of musical programs per satellite, for various store chains.

More traditionally, Feucherolles has important arable lands, cultivated by market-gardeners and nursery gardeners.

Lastly, Feucherolles has a golf 18 holes and a riding school.

Feucherolles also shelters the seat of the departmental league of tennis of Yvelines, affiliated with FFT.

The jump noted with the census of 1821 is consecutive with the fastening of the old commune of Lanluets-Holy-Gem in 1818.

Culture

Architectural heritage

  • Church Holy-Genevieve
The Holy-Genevieve church dates from 11th and 12th centuries. Surmounted by an elegant bell-tower with six stone sides, it is of Romance and Gothic mixed style. The nave and the collateral ones are surmounted capitals “with water sheets”.
The church of Feucherolles is classified historic building since 1886.
  • the presbytery

When the 7 messidor Year X (June 25th, 1802), the prefect enjoint with the mayors to prohibit the performance of their duties of catholic minister to the priests who are married, the mayor must drive out the priest: he took woman. As for the Boyer father, sent by the bishop in replacement, he refuses to fix himself at Feucherolles because “there is no presbytery and of housing suitable to propose to him”. October 16th, 1810, Louis Million makes donation with the commune of a ground of 1 are 96 centiares to build the presbytery there.
  • the field Saint-Anthony

Near to the church, this old house belonged to the order of Génovéfains around the 16th century. It shelters a cloister which comes from the old market to corns of Beauvais. After having been used as considered fashionable country inn, the Saint-Anthony field is a private property today.
