Festival of theater

The festivals of theater are among the first types of Festival. The ancient Greek Théâtre was associated with the religious ceremonies devoted to Dionysos. The medieval mysteries were played principal Christian festivals. The daily stage performances belong to a relatively recent phenomenon.

During the 20th century of many festivals of theater were organized to support various types of spectacle or to make popular the traditional great authors. In margin of much of festivals, not-official representations are presented in “festivals off” to promote alternate playwrights and interpreters or to make it possible beginners to try their chance

Some festivals

  • the Festival of Tragos is the festival of the longest theater of Europe: it lasts indeed of at the beginning of July at the end of August. He celebrates moreover his 30 years in 2007.
