Festival of the film Web amateur

The festival of the film Web amateur takes place each year in spring with Oloron-Holy-Marie. Its objective is to show on big screen best court-measurings amateurs diffused on Internet and to reward the talent and inventiveness for their young realizers.

The concept

With the vulgarizing of data processing and the constant fall in the price of the numerical video cameras, each one can be tested today with the realization of small films. It is the case of many grass scenario writers who compensate for the budget limited their productions by a great originality and much of enthusiasm.

When the moment sometimes happened to make known the fruit of its work, the majority of the vidéastes turns to the most economic means and simplest to diffuse their creations: Internet network.

The festival of the film Web amateur was created in objective triple:

  1. To emphasize and to make known the best productions of the year past by diffusing them on the big screen of Space Jéliote

  2. To allow the vidéastes, which are attended generally only on the forums or via the email, to meet their public, to exchange and put on the way new projects
  3. Récompenser best films at the same time thanks to a jury for specialists but also according to the opinion of the public
With this intention, the festival of the film Web amateur is spread out over 2 days and proposes:
  • Of the projections intended for different public (children, teenagers, adults) the afternoon or in evening
  • From the demonstrations and the practical workshops for the vidéastes
  • Of initiations for the Turning and the Assembly for the visitors
  • an official ceremony at the conclusion which the various prices are decreed
  • a multi-media space to make it possible to the visitors to go to view a film selection directly in line
  • Several meetings with the press and the local mediums
  • a discovery of the regional gastronomy

At the conclusion of the festival, association publishes and distributes a DVD on which one finds all films of the official selection like some no-claims bonus (software of assembly, films additional, photographs taken at the time of the 2 days…).

History

The first edition of the festival of the film Web amateur took place in 2003 on the impulse of association Baleine Prod and the Media library of Billère (64). It was held with Billère the Friday the 9th and on Saturday, May 10, at the same time in the media library and the room Robert De Lacaze. The jury was chaired by Philippe Peythieu and Veronique Augereau, the French voices of the cartoon " Simpson ".

In 2004, for its 2nd edition, the festival moved with Oloron-Holy-Marie in the Espace Jéliote . It is also into 2004 that was created the association intended exclusively for the organization of the festival. The festival took place the Friday the 21st and on Saturday, May 22 and the jury was chaired by Frederic Michaud, realizer and professor in a school of audio-visual.

The third festival of the film Web amateur was held the Friday the 22nd and on Saturday, April 23 2005. The jury was chaired by Philippe Masson, realizer, journalist for the specialized press and author of many tricks and easy ways diffused within the framework of the emission " films made at the house ".

The fourth edition of the festival took place the Friday the 28th and on Saturday, April 29 2006. Oscar Sisto, actor and professor of theater, chaired the jury. For the first time, a contest of " speed filming" was organized: the participants had 24:00 to imagine, turn, go up and to return a small film on the topic Papa bear is in anger .
