Festival of the Dutch Cinema

The Festival of the Dutch Cinema , in Dutch: Nederlands Film Festival , is a Cinema festival which is annually held since 1982 at September and October with Utrecht.

During the ten days of the festival, are presented the Dutch films produced during the year, the majority are shown in first. They are films of any kind, long and short films, Documentaire S and productions dramatic for the TV. The last evening of the festival, one gives the prices of the Gouden Kalf for best the Film S, manager S, Acteur S will etcétéra.

Each year there are also retrospectives. Since 1994 one invites a host of honor of the year and there are discussions and seminars.

The festival was created in 1982 by the scenario writer Jos Stelling under the name of Jours of Film Dutch and brought to gather Cinéaste S, but the festival attracted the large public one more and more. The 25e éditon of the festival, in 2005, attracted 107.000 visitors.

The festival is chaired by Doreen Boonekamp.
