Festival of films of the world of Montreal
The Festival of films of the world of Montreal is a festival of Cinéma founded by Serge Losique.
Although the first edition took place in 1977, the first official competition was held in 1978.
The festival proceeds usually end of August until first Monday of September - which corresponds in North America to the Labor Day (not to be confused with the festival of the workers on May 1st).
The Festival of Films of the World, the only international film festival of North America accredited by the government, aims at the cinema of quality of all the continents and wishes to make known the cinema of author and innovation.
FM presents to the Imperial Cinema, the Maisonneuve Theater, the Cinema of the Latin Quarter, the Québécois Cineclub, the Cinema of the National office of the Film, and outside.
The highest distinction of the festival is the Grand Prix of Americas.
