Festival of Fès of the sacred musics of the world

Each year, at the end of the month of May and at the beginning of June of, the town of Fès organizes its festival of the sacred musics of the world . During a whole week, a bouquet of fields and spiritual musics are proposed; films, conferences and exposures are added to the cultural program Co-organized by Fès association Know and Fès M.S.M.

Apart from the official spectacles with the Museum of Batha, Bab Maquina, or the Roman site of Volubilis, it is all the imperial city which becomes spectacle: its and light, craft industry and gastronomy, add their animation to the city Idrisside. The concerts are held on various places of the city in particular with the place of Bab Boujloud, with the Racecourses, Bab Al Makina, for the concerts Dar Tazi for the evenings of brotherhoods soufies.

The festival accommodates each year a multitude of artists come from any horizon and any culture as well as conferences, exposures and film projections in margin of the festival.

Among the outstanding musicians who took part in the editions of this festival, one finds, inter alia, Marcel Khalifé (Lebanon), Kadhem Saher, Sharam Nazeri (Iran), Sabah Fakhri (Syria), Abd Alhadi bellkhiyyat (Morocco) as well as musicians come from the Africa and in particular Youssou Dour (Senegal for the edition 2004 accompanied by the Orchestra by the Cairo by Fathy Salamah. The festival accommodates also groups music and of dance spiritual international to the image of the Dancing dervishes of Konya of Turkey, Moines dancers of Tibet (Tibet) as well as Arc Gospel Choir off Harlem (the United States).

Its current president is Mohamed Kabbaj.
