Ferrol is a seaboard town built by and for the sea: fishing, the shipyards, the quay, the beaches… belongs to the sharp history of a population of some 78.000 inhabitants who form the nerve center, commercial and of work of the Sector of Ferrol. The ria of Ferrol is the mouth of the large river of Xuvia, between the ends of the courses Prioriño and Segaño and it is protected from the winds and the bad weather by the mountains of Montefaro and Graña. Close to the rias of Corogne, Betanzos and Ares form the Golfe Ártabro.
