Fernando Quejas

Fernando Quejas , born in 1922 and deceased the October 28th 2005 was a singer course-verdien.

Fernando Quejas was one of the pioneers of the Morna, musical style typical of the islands of the Cape Verde. It was also at the origin of the first radio station (Radio Praia) established in the island (1945). It settled then with the Portugal (1947) and recorded 22 albums for the Portuguese label Alvorada between 1953 and 1960. It continued its rounds throughout the world until in the Années 1970. It turned over to sing on its native island in 1990 with the invitation of the Parliament.
