Fernand Raynaud

Fernand Raynaud , Humoriste and Actor French, born the May 19th 1926 with Clermont-Ferrand, deceased the September 28th 1973 in a road accident to the Cheix-on-Morge, close to Riom. Fernand Raynaud is known for his many Sketch are (" The 22 with Asnières " , " Let us remain Français" …), sometimes mimes, and its amusing Song S which marked its time: “And v' lan passes to me sponge”, “With the friend bidasse”, “Lena”, “Such as it is”…

Some of its expressions remained famous: " Torturer of enfant" , " Happy! " , " Y has like a defect… " , " It is studied for… " , " That had paid! " , " Hold! Here is the halberdier! ".

Biography

Fernand Raynaud was born with Clermont-Ferrand within the city of Oradou, built by Michelin, where his/her father was foreman. His/her Yolande sister, thirteen years its elder, will become a character headlight of her sketches. It gives up the studies at 15 years, after having obtained its certificate of studies.

He plays in a theater amateur and exerts the trades of winder, clerk of architect, projectionist of cinema, digger to the camp of aviation of Aulnat… After a last argument with his father, it leaves to settle in Paris at 17 years, during the war. It will see every evening the comic ones of the time to the Folies Shepherdess. It begins itself in breweries, then the cabarets, connecting a few years of mad cow.

Its meeting with Jean Nohain at the beginning of the Années 1950 will decide its career. It takes part in the emission tele " 36 Chandelles" , where it meets Roger Pierre and Jean-Marc Thibault, Darry Cowl and Raymond Devos. In December 1957, it marries the singer of Canadian origin Renee Charon.

He lives Gennevilliers during several years, and several of its sketches will carry the trace of the characters whom he crossed, such as the sketch the 22 with Asnières which is only on the other side of the boulevard.

He really triumphs with the beginning of the year sixty for 18 months with the Théâtre over the Varieties, in his spectacle " Fernand Raynaud Chaud". Then it connects the rounds in France, with the Canada, in Africa and in the Pacifique. It finds also regularly the Olympia or Bobino.

In 1962, it produces " the Middle-class man gentleman " of Molière, where he interprets Mr the Jordan. One year later, he plays Sganarelle in the " Don Juan " of Molière, at the sides of Georges Descrières. In 1970, it entirely proposes a spectacle MIME with the Théâtre of the City, entitled " One hour without paroles" , which is a great success.

In 1972, threatened by a payment of back taxes, it announces that it will put a term at its career to withdraw itself with Noumea (New Caledonia).

But the September 28th 1973, whereas it goes to Lyon to join friends there, it is killed accidentally when its half-compartment Rolls Royce Silver Shadow strikes with very sharp pace a cattle float at the entry of Cheix-on-Morge (Puy-de-Dôme), between Aigueperse and Riom. A commemorative plaque announces this place. It is buried with the cemetery (left new) of Saint-Germain-of-Ditches (Allier), where, being child, it spent his holidays. His/her father had been employed the SNCF in this city before entering to Michelin to Clermont-Ferrand.

Its comic incarnated the entry of France in a certain modernity: “Traffic control” and the development of the car, “the customs officer” and the immigrant workers, the owner who requires that one say “I amuse”, the peasant “Crésus” and the passage of the farming community to the intensive agriculture.

Entirety, coleric, it was able to launch wounding formulas to people who displeased to him. It did not support in particular that one does not laugh at the time of his spectacles.

Towards the 18 years age, it lost two fingers torn off by the passage of a train. Another version of the accident explains the origin of the loss of its two fingers by the accidental handling of an axe by one of his/her friends, in a cattle shed, with old 17 years.

Homage
