He takes part in the Walloon action with the Abbé Jacques Mahieu, resistant within clandestine Wallonia free, which is worth to him to be denounced and stopped in December 1941. He will be imprisoned in Barcelona, Saragossa and in Miranda.
He broke with PSB in 1964, revolted of what he granted no attention to the Walloon Pétitionnement. He rejoined the small parts of the Walloon left in 1965, but lost his seat of deputy whom he covered in 1968 with the electoral victory with the Walloon Rassemblement in 1968.
After two not succeeded attempts (including one to propose a date like feastday for Wallonia), Fernand Massart and consorts will propose (proposal disputed by some) a date like feastday for the French cultural community of Belgium, dates which will be accepted the twenty-four June 1975 and will be celebrated for the first time the twenty-seven September 1975.
