Fernand Gregh

Fernand Gregh (October 14th 1873 with Paris - January 5th 1960) is a poet and critical literary French and was member of the French Academy.

Biography

He was the son of the type-setter Louis Gregh (1843-1915). In 1890, it obtained the first price of French essay to the open Competition, but it did not have as much success to the French Academy where it presented thirteen times without being elected. Finally in 1953, he was admitted there, whereas he was going to be 80 years old. Roger Peyrefitte, whose malicious gossip is known, suggests that it was elected because his/her son had become director of the Budget and that the Immortal ones hoped that their new colleague would be to them a support in the event of troubles with the tax department.
