Ferentino

Ferentino is a common Italian of the Province of Frosinone at the edge of the river Sacco, in the area Latium in Italy.

History

Ferentino is known in antiquity under the Latin name of Ferentinum , quoted of the people hernic. The ancient strengthened enclosure dated from the Life-IIe front century J.C still remains, with turns and medieval doors.

In 306 av. J.C, this city refused will join the other hernic cities to declare the war against Rome. After the defeat of Herniques, Rome rewarded fidelity for Ferentinum by a preferential treatment: statute of Municipe with the right to elect its magistrates, agreement with the inhabitants of the Roman Citizenship and the right of legal marriage between enviable Romans and Ferentins, privileges at that time.
