Ferdinando Sordelli

Ferdinando Sordelli is a Artiste and a Naturaliste Italy N, born the December 12th 1837 with Milan and dead the January 17th 1916 in this same city.

It starts to work with Giorgio Jan (1791-1866) in 1857 with the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale of Milan as temporary assistant, this station becoming, in 1865, permanent. Jan, former professor de Sordelli, recruits it before very helping it to carry out its General Iconographie of Ophidiens , work which will include/understand 50 parts, each of six boards. Those are carried out by Sordelli. Jan dies in 1866 and it is Sordelli which ensures the end of the publication. The unit, consisted of nearly 8.500 drawings, one of vastest is ever carried out on a group of animals.

Apart from its work with Jan, Sordelli makes research in Zoologie and Paléontologie, in particular on the plants Fossile S.
