Ferdinand de Hompesch

The main large last of the Order of Malta before the twentieth century, Ferdinand de Hompesch (November 9th 1744 with Dusseldorf - May 12th 1805 with Montpellier) had been Minister for the court of Vienna near the knights during 25 years before reaching the dignity of large Master on July 17th, 1797, grace in particular to its relations with the Emperor of Russia Paul 1 {{er}}.

It had to deliver Malta to Napoleon Bonaparte.
