Ferdinand Ier de Castille
Ferdinand 1st known as Large the , (born v. 1016 - died in 1065), was king de Castille (1035 - 1065), territory to which were added, in 1037, the province of León and, in 1054, that of Navarre.
Wire of the king Sanche {{Romanian|III}} of Navarre and Elvire de Castille, Ferdinand married the sister of Bermude {{Rom|III}}, king of León. In 1037, it beat the army of Bermude and asserted the throne, calling upon the death tax of his wife. In 1054, it gained the victory over the Navarreses, close to Burgos, killing his/her brother, García {{Rom|IV}}, king de Navarre, during the battle. This success enabled him to still increase its kingdom.
Ferdinand was also illustrated by its victories against the Moors, to which it removed Coimbra, in 1064. Before dying, it shared its possessions between its three sons, opening a fratricidal fight.
Abbad {{Romanian|II}} respectful of the Christian faith, authorized in Ferdinand 1st the Large one in 1063 the transfer, of Seville to León, of the remainders of holy Isidore, the large Doctors of the Church ic Visigoth of 6th and 7th centuries.
On mandate of Ferdinand 1st, the bishops leonais and asturiens, Alvito and Ordoño, came to seek in Seville the relics of the saint doctor which were transferred in the church San Juan de León, from now on called San Isidoro.
