Ferdinand II of Naples
Ferdinand II of Aragon , born in 1469, died in 1496, king de peninsular Sicile (king de Naples) (1495 - 1496), wire illegitimate of Alphonse II, king de Naples, and of Hyppolitta-Maria Sforza.
It was crowned in 1495, after the abdication of his father. The enmity which the Neapolitan people had dedicated to Ferdinand Ier of Naples and in Alphonse II extended on him: during the invasion of the king de France Charles VIII, the people, the troops and the nobility gave up Ferdinand to be submitted to the French monarch.
Naples is occupied the February 22nd 1495. But the arrogance of French causes the hostility of the population which revolts.
However, by a sudden reversal of opinion, the French are driven out, the Neapolitan ones were not long in pointing out their sovereign, who had withdrawn himself in the island of Ischia, and the French had to give up the Neapolitan territory. Ferdinand died shortly after in 1496, 26 years old.
He had married his half-aunt Jeanne of Naples (1478 † 1518), but had not had children.
