Ferdinand Christian Baur (June 21st 1792, December 2nd 1860) was a German Théologien Protesting.

He founded the young School of Tübingen, approaching in a radically new way the study of the New Testament.

He published a great number of works of religious criticism almost as bold as those of David Friedrich Strauss, his disciple:

  • Christian Gnosis , 1835;
  • Saint-Paul, his life and his doctrines , 1845;
  • critical Research on the canonical Gospels , 1847;
  • Christianity until the 6th century , 1835 and following.
