Anecdote

It gained only 2 victories of stages over the Tour de France at 10 years of interval in 1966 and 1976. Until the 10th stage of the Tour de France 2007 at the time which Cédric Vasseur was essential, it was only and single cyclist having gained his two only victories over the Tour de France at 10 years of variation.

However, it does not beat the record of the number of years past between 2 victories over the Tour de France which always belongs to Rene Vietto which was essential in the 9th stage of the Tour 1935 then in the 9th stage of the Tour 1947. There is also Gino Bartali which was constrained to have patience between the 14th stage of the turn 1938 and 1st of the turn 1948.

It thus joined Jean Alavoine, Henri Pelissier, Philippe Thys, Louis Mottiat, André Leducq, Antonin Magne, Rene Vietto, Gino Bartali, André Darrigade, Jean Stablinski, Raymond Poulidor and Felice Gimondi in this performance.

Gerben Karstens will make some in the same way during this Tour de France 1976. Then they are Joaquim Agostinho, Lucien Van Impe, Lance Armstrong, Richard Virenque and thus Cédric Vasseur which will make a success of the same performance.
