Ferdie Aston

Fitzmaurice Thomas Drake Aston , more known like Ferdie Aston , born the September 18th 1871 with Cheltenham (England), is a player of Rugby to XV which played with the team of South Africa. It evolved/moved at the station of center or winger.

Career

It disputed its first test match the July 30th 1896 against the British Lions. He played his last test match against the British Lions the September 5th 1896.

He thus takes part in the famous lost series 3 tests with 1 of the Springboks which sees the first victory of the Springboks over the British Lions.

He is selected with 3 recoveries as captain with Springboks.

He is not the captain the September 5th with the Cape in Newlands Stadium, for the victory 5-0.

Aston dies in Durban in 1926.
