Female main road 1 (basketball)

The female Nationale 1 is the second level of the championship of female tennis shoe in France just in lower part of the female Ligue of Tennis shoe.

It bore until in 1998 the name of female Nationale 1B , like anteroom of the female Nationale 1A, before this one does not become LFB.

History

Since its creation, the NF1 was always the anteroom of LFB, with a very variable level and budgets between the teams. Until 2006, 14 teams evolved/moved in this championship. But during this year 2006, the French federation of basketball wanted to reward the dynamism for certain clubs (the Toulouse Basket Club for example) by organizing stoppings of accession of NF2 in NF1. This brutal change was not taste of the clubs relegated this year of NF1 towards the NF2. Thus the transition from 14 to 16 clubs was carried out.

Course of the competition

Currently, the championship is composed of 16 clubs, which are opposed into 30 matches return ticket. At the conclusion of the season:

first is promoted in LFB
the last four are relegated in NF2.
