Felix, count de Villebois (born the January 29th 1789 with Angers and deceased the October 24th 1872 with the Castle of the Plessis-Clerk in Nuillé (Maine-et-Loire)) was a Politician and a writer French. He is the grandfather of Georges de Villebois-Mareuil.

Origins

The Villebois-Mareuil family, of Parisian dress, claimed to have been annoblie by the King Philippe-Auguste on the field of Bataille of Bouvines in 1214, to be originating in the Périgord and to be themselves established in Mayenne with Felix de Villebois, the son of Pierre-Marie-Maurille de Villebois and Pauline Leroy of Potherie. He married Sophie Foucault de Vauguyon in 1819, which carried to him in marriage the castle and the ground of Guenaudière in Grez-in-Bouère.

Biography

Become mayor of Grez-in-Bouère and city council man of Laval, it was named by royal decree of the August 2nd 1826, member of the General advice of Mayenne, functions which it abdicated not to lend the oath to the Gouvernement of July. Returned in the private life, he dies in 1872 leaving a great number of works and opuscules.
