Felix de Nole

Saint Felix de Nole was born with Nole, in the Province of Naples, towards 50 after J.C in a family of modest origin. He is the first bishop of Nole. Felix would have died into 95 after J.C after being martyrisé by decapitation during the persecution of Domitien. He is venerated like saint by the Catholic church, the Roman Martyrologe commemorates it the November 15th.
Information on saint Felix de Nole is extremely reduced and often they come to mingle with those from another Felix saint, known as holy Felix '' priest '' of Nole, priest catholic of the 3rd century whose commemoration takes place on January 14th, this saint referring to his homonym in its Poèmes of Christmas .

It is told that one day the Felix young person released by his prayer two men who were had by the demon. A little later Archélao, the governor of the city, was constrained by the pagan priests to stop it and to lead it to the temple to question it. Felix then began a prayer and the temple was absorbed in an enormous pit. Archealo was thrown to its feet and asked him the Baptême. With him, all the population of Nole converts and Felix was named first bishop of Nola. Other miracles are charged to him in the years which followed, in particular one tells that the lava which advanced towards the city at the time of an eruption of the Vesuvius stopped thanks to its intervention.In 95, it is stopped by the Préfet Marcien during Christian persecutions with 30 companions. It is told that Felix, having been thrown in a lion's den, the deer moved back with the stupor of the witnesses in front of the young bishop. He was then thrown in a burning coal blazing inferno but Felix released himself immediately from his chains and a rain made extinguish the flames. The prefect then made it hang the upside down and, after three days of tortures, made it decapitate. It was on November 15th of the same year.
Its body was buried in hiding-place in a niche above which, later, the vault was built which will become then the cathedral of Nole where the skin of the saint rests still today.
Worship
With Nole the festivities in honor of Felix saint take place, each year, on November 15th. To this occasion, a silver bust representing the saint is carried in procession and of the masses are celebrated. This moment, in the crypt where the remainders of the saint are preserved, oozes a liquid considered as miraculous and called the “basket” of Felix saint. It is collected and put in a money chalice. He is sought by the believers like remedy for the diseases. In the past the faithful ones saw in this phenomenon a sign of good omen for a heavy crop
