Felix Savary

Felix Savary , born with Paris the October 4th 1797 and died in Estagel the July 15th 1841, is a Astronome French.

Student (X1815 Promotion) then professor of Astronomy and Geodesy to the Polytechnic school, he is librarian - observer of the Bureau of longitudes between 1823 and 1829. He is elected member of the Academy of Science on December 24th, 1832.

In its Memory on the orbits of double stars , appeared in 1827, it is the first to calculate a relative orbit of visual Binaire, i.e. movement of secondary star around the primary education. It applies it to the star ξ Ursae Majoris in To the determination of the orbits which around their center of gravity two stars very brought closer one to the other describe ( Connaissance of times for 1830 ).

He works with Ampère and publishes in particular in 1823 a Mémoire on the application of calculation to the electrodynamic phenomena .
