Felix Edouard Guerin-Méneville
Felix Edouard Guerin-Méneville is a Entomologiste French, born the October 12th 1799 and dead the January 26th 1874.
He is the author of almost 400 publications on the insects. It is in particular necessary to quote its collaboratoire with the part devoted to the Insecte S in the methodical Encyclopédie (1825) and especially its Iconographie of the Animal kingdom of Georges Cuvier 1829-1844 including/understanding two volumes and 4.600 figures supplementing the work of Georges Cuvier (1769-1832) and of Pierre André Latreille (1762-1833).
From 1833 to 1838, it makes appear with Achille Rémy Percheron (1797-1869) the Genera Insects , incomplete, and of 1833 to 1840 with Gaspard Joseph Martin Saint-Angel (1803-1888) the elementary Traité of natural history… (2 volumes).
It founds also several reviews: the Store of zoology, comparative anatomy and paleontology (1830), the zoological Re-examined by the Company cuviérienne (1838), the Re-examined and Store of zoology pure and applied (1849) and finally the Re-examined sericiculture (1863), time when one is interested much in the sericultural production French.
It directs from 1833 to 1839 the picturesque Dictionnaire of natural history , republished of 1843 to 1840 pennies the title Nouveau traditional dictionary of natural history .
